I’ve always said that the people who are happiest are the people who are grateful and the people who are grateful usually give back.
For my family, Christmas is all about giving back, but like John Lennon says, we’re not the only ones.
Earlier this week, Elisha and I visited Enchanted Fairies, a family-run unique portrait experience in the Dallas area, for a storybook photography, holiday tea, and photo shoot featuring Kidd’s Kids. So let’s break that down.
Kidd’s Kids is a 501c3 wish-granting organization, whose mission is to provide hope and happiness by creating beautiful memories for families of children with life-altering and life-threatening conditions. Doesn’t that bring chills down your spine?
You’re probably familiar with the late, nationally syndicated Radio DJ Kidd Kraddick. He began this program in 1991 as a bus ride to Sea World in San Antonio, Texas, and thanks to the Kidd Kraddick Morning Show and its listeners, for over 25 years Kidd’s Kids has taken more than 1,000 children ages 5-12 and their families on all-expenses-paid vacations to Walt Disney World.
In 2017, Caroline Kraddick, his daughter, created the Kidd’s Kids Teen Trip to Give Kids the World Village in Central Florida. Here children ages 13-18 with life-threatening conditions, and their families are provided an all-expenses-paid vacation with passes to Disney World, Universal Studios and SeaWorld.
Since we have experienced Walt Disney World with other families, I know these unique, group trips create life-long friendships during the vacation of a lifetime.
So how does Enchanted Fairies fit into this labor of love? Their mission is to have their high-end ethereal portraits they are world-renowned for, create a positive impact not just in the lives of their little subjects, but to those less fortunate in the community.
To fulfill that mission, Enchanted Fairies has generously donated over $600,000 to Kidd’s Kids to date to from 100% of their session fees and calendar contest.
Isn’t that amazing? 100% of proceeds from every session fee ($25 per child) at Enchanted Fairies are donated to Kidd’s Kids and that allows Kidd’s Kids to send children with terminal and life-altering conditions on a trip to create magical moments with their families to Walt Disney World – the most magical place on Earth!
Enchanted Fairies also holds an annual calendar contest and donates 100% of the proceeds from the funds raised from that calendar contest. Plus, when the calendar is printed, and sold, again, 100% of proceeds from those calendar sales are donated as well!
I’m amazed at the generosity of the people of Enchanted Fairies. Their goal is to reach one Million dollars in donations and you can help achieve that goal.
A modest donation of $25 for per child adds up and can make a difference and here’s what you get access to when you donate:
- The Enchanted Fairies beautiful 2018 Enchanted Wardrobe (with Signature tops, tutus, and flower crowns).
- Enchanted Fairies Signature Hand Crafted Props
- Enchanted Fairies Ripped-from-the-pages-of-a-
Storybook sets (Spring Fairy, Magic of Christmas, or Mythical Mermaid) - Enchanted Fairies Magical Fairy Dust (no session is Enchanted without it!)
- Enchanted Fairies Fun and Whimsical Accessories

- At least 20 minutes with one of the Enchanted Fairies Certified Master Photographers

I am looking forward to experience the magic of Enchanted Fairies with my family!
As part of the Tea For You event, we met two families that went on the Kidd’s Kids most recent trip to Walt Disney World and we experienced first hand how the support gives them strength to continue their battle.
Enchanted Fairies is so much more than a photography studio. The cater to a child’s imagination, bringing it to life for them. From the first step into Enchanted Fairies, located at the Shops at Willow Bend mall in Plano, children are transported to a fairytale land full of wonderment, and laughter. This means each session at Enchanted Fairies is a magical and interactive fun-fest!
The space was breathtakingly beautiful and the details are incredible. As we toured Enchanted Fairies, some very special Kidd’s Kids were getting prepped and photographed to capture magical memories at Enchanted Fairies!
We met the sweet Avery – age 9 and her mom, Kaytee. Avery’s diagnosis is a Brain Tumor and Posterior Fosse Syndrome. She is such a sweet spirit and I enjoyed chatting with her about her trip to Walt Disney World. Her mom was delightful, very friendly and warm.
I also met little Mason, who is full of joy. Mason enjoyed his photoshoot with his 5-year-old sister, Mya. Mason is 7 and has been diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome.
Mya has a lot of energy and reminded me a little bit about my own Eliana. She is always camera ready and her and her little brother just love each other so much you could cry.
And speaking of crying, I had a chance to chat with their parents – Ashley and Juan – about hospital visits and how hard life can be in between. They told me how much they appreciated seeing the kids have fun at Walt Disney World and how they had nurses helping out so they could have some alone time enjoying themselves, too.
