I am thrilled that you now know your Top 5 Passions and you are clear of your intentions, the clues to your God-given purpose.
“When you are clear, what you choose to show up in your life will, but only to the extent that you are clear.” ~ Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood
With the clarity of knowing what your passions are, also comes the awareness of where you are on the journey of pursuing the life you were meant to live. You’ve scored your Top 5 Passions on a scale of 0 to 10 [where 0 means this passion is not present in your life at all, and 10 means you are fully living this passion].
Your intentions create your life, and now you know what priorities need your attention in that process.
Intention + Attention + No Tension
The secret to living your passions lies in this conscious daily practice:
“Whenever you are faced with a decision, a choice or an opportunity, choose in favor of your passions.” ~ Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood
I guarantee that you will see great results in the areas of life you are seeking to improve even if all you do is place your attention in remembering to follow this practice, and even more so when you take steps to help them come about.
When I took The Passion Test for the first time, I was almost in shock when my #3 Top Passion resulted to be about “being married to my eternal companion” and I ranked a whopping ZERO. After 8 years as a single mom, and within 9 months of friendship, I was in blissful shock about what just being open and awake can create. No effort, no tension, no stress… just allowing God to do His work and surrendering to His perfect will.
Unlike with traditional goal setting, we won’t attract the undue tension that comes with having a deadline to achieve, receive, or conceive what you desire. We will deliberately trust God’s timing.
However, we will indeed measure our progress throughout the journey, so we know we are on track and that we are getting closer to our destination. Staying accountable is an important process to ensure we do not frustrate God’s plans with unwanted detours, and to ascertain that we celebrate our wins along the way.
That brings us to the next step: you will create 5 Markers for each one of your Top 5 Passions.
What are The Passion Test Markers?
- The Passion Test Markers are signposts on the journey, evidence that will help you know when you are living your passions. They are measurable, tangible, specific events that indicate you are getting closer to your ideal life.
- The Passion Test Markers allow you to expand on your passions and include other passions that are important to you, including ones that were in the original mindstorming list.
- The Passion Test Markers are not goals in the sense that you are working hard to achieve them; they are milestones along the way, and a focus for your attention to see your passions manifested in your life.

[…] Intention, Attention, No tension. Once I was aware of my top 5 passions it was clear that I needed to make adjustments to be able to live based on what I care the most about. However, Elayna didn’t set goals that were tied to time, like we often do “need to lose 30 pounds in 30 days” which lead us to a lot of stress and effort that create more negativity. Her guidance was more about being intentional in my daily pursuit of what I want, paying attention to those things that matter and being content with the fact that I’m working on them, so not being pressured to hit milestones but happy in my pursuit.
