From original live series, live action films, animated features, shorts, documentaries, to reimagined musicals, Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Lucasfilm, and 20th Century are giving us a lot to be excited about.

WANDAVISION ~ January 15, 2021 (Marvel Studios / Disney+)
Marvel Studios presents “WandaVision,” a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (whom you may know as Scarlett Witch) and Vision —two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.
I watched the first two episodes, which are now available on Disney Plus and it was a mind-blowing experience.
Directed by Matt Shakman with Jac Schaeffer as head writer, the new original live-action series debuts exclusively on Disney+ beginning January 15, 2021.
The cast includes Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany, Kathryn Hahn, Teyonah Parris, Kat Dennings, and Randall Park.
Paul Bettany, whom I met at the Solo Star Wars Story premiere after party, and Elizabeth Olsen show us the depth of their acting talent – and I am impressed! BRAVI!
I almost died when I saw Debra Jo Rupp. I met her back in the day at a live taping of That 70’s Show, and I adore her.

FLORA & ULYSSES – February 19, 2021 (Walt Disney Studios and Disney+)
Disney’s “Flora & Ulysses” is a delightful comedy-adventure set to release in the U.S. on February 19th, 2021.
FLORA & ULYSSES is based on the Newberry Award-winning book about 10-year- old Flora, an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated.
After rescuing a squirrel she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique superhero powers which take them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora’s life–and her outlook–forever.

RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON, March 5th, 2021 (Walt Disney Animation Studios & Disney+)
RAYA AND THE LAST DRAGON is an animated fantasy adventure that is set for simultaneous theatrical release on March 5th and available on Disney+ with premier access.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Raya and the Last Dragon” travels to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony.
But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity.
Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people.
However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.
“Raya and the Last Dragon” features the voices of Kelly Marie Tran as Raya, a warrior whose wit is as sharp as her blade, and Awkwafina as the magical, mythical, self-deprecating dragon named Sisu. Characters also include a street-savvy 10-year-old entrepreneur named Boun, the formidable giant Tong and a thieving toddler Noi with her band of Ongis.
Directed by Don Hall and Carlos López Estrada and produced by Osnat Shurer and Peter Del Vecho, “Raya and the Last Dragon” will be released simultaneously in theaters and on Disney+ with Premier Access on March 5, 2021.
Don Hall received the Academy Award® for Best Animated Feature for “Big Hero 6” (along with producer Roy Conli and director Chris Williams).
Carlos López Estrada is known for directing the critically acclaimed independent film, “Blindspotting.”
“Raya and the Last Dragon” is inspired by the cultures and people of Southeast Asia – throughout the making of the movie, filmmakers worked closely with the Raya Southeast Asia Story Trust, which consisted of expert consultants from the region.
This is one of the Disney movies coming out in 2021 that I am most thrilled about.

THE KING’S MAN – March 12, 2021 (20th Century / theatrical)

FALCON AND WINTER SOLDIER – March 19, 2021 (Marvel Studios / Disney+)
Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier” stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson aka The Falcon, and Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier.
The pair, who came together in the final moments of “Avengers: Endgame,” team up on a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience.
Directed by Kari Skogland with Malcolm Spellman serving as head writer, the six-episode series also stars Daniel Brühl as Baron Zemo, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker.

RON’S GONE WRONG – April 23, 2021 (20th Century / theatrical)
Twentieth Century Studios and Locksmith Animation’s “Ron’s Gone Wrong” is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his ‘Best Friend out of the Box.’
Ron’s hilarious malfunctions set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship.
Ron’s Gone Wrong is directed by Sarah Smith and Jean-Philippe Vine, with Co-Director Octavio Rodriguez.

BLACK WIDOW –May 7, 2021 (Marvel Studios / theatrical)
In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises.
Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger.
Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina.
Black Widow also stars Ray Winstone, William Hurt and O-T Fagbenle.

In Twentieth Century Studios’ epic adventure-comedy “Free Guy,” a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself.
Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late.

CRUELLA – May 28, 2021 (Walt Disney Studios Live Action / theatrical)
Academy Award® winner Emma Stone (“La La Land”) stars in Disney’s “Cruella,” an all-new live action feature film about the rebellious early days of one of cinemas most notorious – and notoriously fashionable – villains, the legendary Cruella de Vil.
“Cruella,” which is set in 1970s London amidst the punk rock revolution, follows a young grifter named Estella, a clever and creative girl determined to make a name for herself with her designs.
She befriends a pair of young thieves who appreciate her appetite for mischief, and together they are able to build a life for themselves on the London streets.
One day, Estella’s flair for fashion catches the eye of the Baroness von Hellman, a fashion legend who is devastatingly chic and terrifyingly haute, played by two-time Oscar® winner Emma Thompson (“Howards End,” “Sense & Sensibility”).
But their relationship sets in motion a course of events and revelations that will cause Estella to embrace her wicked side and become the raucous, fashionable and revenge-bent Cruella.

Marvel Studios’ “Loki” is set to debut on Disney+ in May 2021, featuring the God of Mischief as he steps out of his brother’s shadow in a new original live-action series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”
Tom Hiddleston returns as the title character, joined by Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku and Richard E. Grant.

THE LAST DUEL -October 15, 2021 (20th Century / Theatrical)
From Twentieth Century Studios and visionary filmmaker Ridley Scott comes theatrical thriller “The Last Duel,” a gripping tale of betrayal and vengeance set against the brutality and female oppression of 14th century France.
This historical epic, which is based on actual events depicted in “The Last Duel” by Eric Jager, stars Oscar® winner Matt Damon and two-time Academy Award® nominee Adam Driver as quarreling lords, both of noble birth, whose grievances must be resolved in a duel to the death.
Oscar winner Ben Affleck and Emmy® winner Jodie Comer also star in the film, as well as Harriet Walter, and Marton Csokas, is directed by four-time Academy Award nominee Ridley Scott from a screenplay by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon and Oscar nominee Nicole Holofcener.

The epic story, spanning thousands of years, features a group of immortal heroes forced out of the shadows to reunite against mankind’s oldest enemy, The Deviants.

“West Side Story” has been adapted for the screen from the original 1957 Broadway show, with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and concept, direction and choreography by Jerome Robbins.
This reimagining of the beloved musical stars Ansel Elgort (Tony); Rachel Zegler (María); Ariana DeBose (Anita); David Alvarez (Bernardo); Mike Faist (Riff); Josh Andrés Rivera (Chino); Ana Isabelle (Rosalía); Corey Stoll (Lieutenant Schrank); Brian d’Arcy James (Officer Krupke); and Rita Moreno (as Valentina, who owns the corner store in which Tony works).
Directed by Academy Award® winner Steven Spielberg, from a screenplay by Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award® winner Tony Kushner, “West Side Story” tells the classic tale of fierce rivalries and young love in 1957 New York City.
The film is produced by Spielberg, Academy Award®-nominated producer Kristie Macosko Krieger and Tony Award®-winning producer Kevin McCollum.
Moreno – one of only three artists to be honored with Academy®, Emmy®, GRAMMY®, Tony® and Peabody Awards – also serves as one of the film’s executive producers.
Justin Peck, who choreographed the musical numbers in the film; renowned Los Angeles Philharmonic conductor and GRAMMY Award® winner Gustavo Dudamel, who helmed the recording of the iconic score; Academy Award®-nominated composer and conductor David Newman (“Anastasia”), who arranged the score, Tony Award®-winning composer Jeanine Tesori (“Fun Home,” “Thoroughly Modern Millie”), who supervised the cast on vocals; and Grammy®-nominated music supervisor Matt Sullivan (“Beauty and the Beast,” “Chicago”), who serves as executive music producer for the film.

MS. MARVEL – Late 2021 (Marvel Studios / Disney+)
Brought to us by Marvel Studios, original live-action series “Ms. Marvel,” launching on Disney+ in late 2021, is a new series that introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani-American growing up in Jersey City.
A great student, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she has a special affinity for superheroes, particularly Captain Marvel.
But Kamala struggles to fit in at home and at school—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to.
Life is easier with super powers, right?
Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel; the cast also includes Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Matt Lintz, Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Naki, Azher Usman, Travina Springer and Nimra Bucha.

HAWKEYE – Late 2021 (Marvel Studios / Disney+)
Marvel Studios’ “Hawkeye” stars Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, who teams up with another well-known archer from the Marvel comics, Kate Bishop, played by Hailee Steinfeld.
The cast also includes Vera Farmiga, Fra Fee, Tony Dalton, Zahn McClarnon, Brian d’Arcy James and newcomer Alaqua Cox as Maya Lopez.
“Hawkeye” is helmed by Rhys Thomas and directing duo Bert and Bertie.
The original live-action “Hawkeye” series debuts on Disney+ in late 2021.

THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT – December 2021 (Lucasfilm / Disney+)
Boba Fett’s journey will continue in “The Book of Boba Fett,” which will be set within the timeline of “The Mandalorian” and star Temuera Morrison as the titular bounty hunter, along with Ming-Na Wen as Fennec Shand.
Robert Rodriguez—who directed Chapter 14 of “The Mandalorian” in a thrilling installment that reintroduced Boba Fett to the Star Wars galaxy—joins Favreau and Dave Filoni as executive producer.
“The Book of Boba Fett” original live-action series will release in December of 2021.
