Heather Von St James is a 43 year old Positive Mom to Lily, her only child. A busy salon owner, with a full clientele, Heather was married for 7 years before her and her lovely husband decided to take the leap on parenting.
I am featuring Heather as a positive mom because of her incredible trust in God and ability to move forward.
“I always have been accused of wearing Rose Colored glasses because of my optimistic views on things. This has always served me well” says Heather.
When Lily was 3 1/2 months old, Heather was diagnosed with a deadly cancer called Malignant Pleural Mesothelioma… and boy did her faith serve her well!
Most people who get a diagnosis don’t live beyond 18 months and 6 years later, she is cancer free!
Enjoy Heather’s interview and feel free to make comments or ask her questions!
My mom’s example taught me to just enjoy, and be there for my daughter. We must be good role models for our children, because what they learn, they learn from us.
When my daughter willingly gave a bunch of her toys to some refugee families who don’t have much, and how happy she was to help. She is a very generous soul, and makes me so proud.
Being diagnosed with cancer when she was just 3 1/2 months old, and caring for her while going through treatment. I overcame it be sheer willpower and tenacity. I WANT to be here to raise this child. Dying was not an option.
Never fry bacon naked . 🙂
Seriously…
Put God first in your life, and everything else will follow.
Don’t sweat the small stuff. I don’t believe in scheduling our lives with stuff… we just take it as it comes.
My favorite quote is “Life is a banquet.. and most people are starving to death.”
