Love Her Well Book Review and Giveaway

I was so grateful when I knew I was going to get an advanced copy of Love Her Well.

As a mom of teenagers whom I consider amazing girls, it was really wonderful to see that a mom wrote a positive book about girls in the teen years.

I often see negative posts about teens on social media and it really hurts my heart.

No, I don’t think my daughters are perfect and, trust me, if anyone knows their imperfections is ME!

However, I don’t think that publishing our frustrations is the answer to make our relationship better.

And speaking of deepening our relationship with our teen daughters, Love Her Well is all about that, and it truly delivers actionable steps to do that.

I particularly love how the author recognizes that “parents love to commiserate over the agony of raising teenagers” and asks us to ponder about how we would feel if we found a book on our daughter’s nightstand with the title “how to deal with a difficult mom.”

It’s all about perspective!

Favorite Parts in Love Her Well

The whole thing is gold, but I chose a few parts as favorites in the book:

The core beliefs about parenting

Exploring how a mom’s words hurt a daughter

The blind spots in parenting

What parenting from fear and not from love looks like

Thirty five ways to speak life to a teenager

Fourteen realities impacting today’s teen girls

Observations on the teenage brain

Twenty-four ways to prepare your teen daughter for the road

Modeling God’s mercy

Ideas to deepen a mom-daughter connection

Ten ways to see the good in your daughter

Fifteen ways to being her emotional coach

Thirty five ways to enjoy your teenage daughter

Fifty prayers for your teenage daughter

Those are a lot, I know, but I can relate to so many of these practices and I know they work.

I also loved the car time ideas, because I love car time with my girls, as a way to enjoy and laugh together.

The reminder that I will never be the perfect mom never gets old either.

About “Love Her Well”

For many women, having a baby girl is a dream come true. Yet as girls grow up, the narrative of innocence and joy changes to doom and gloom as moms are told “Just wait until she’s a teenager!” and handed a disheartening script that treats a teenage girl’s final years at home as solely a season to survive.

Love Her Well is a realistic yet optimistic guide to help mothers connect with their teenage daughters through the challenges of adolescence.

Written by Kari Kampakis, a mom of four girls and an author for teenage girls, it is packed with powerful insights, relevant stories, timeless truths, and common mistakes made in the mother-daughter relationship.

By building a connection with your daughter as you parent her, you’ll gain a voice in her life that allows you to offer guidance, wisdom, and emotional support. Let’s change the narrative that leads moms to parent girls with a spirit of defeat – and instead parent them with a spirit of strength, especially during the critical teenage years.

I’m so excited for her book launch.
