Sometimes no matter how good, how kind, how giving, how sacrificing, and how loyal a friend you are, people will, at times, be: mean, ungrateful, distrusting, and easy to judge.
All they will ever be to you is an opportunity for you to share your gifts with them and hope it one day inspires them to be better.
In the same sense, you will find people who offer their heart, their love, and their support “no matter what.”
It’s called unconditional love, unconditional friendship.
I’m a friendly girl and I make lots of friends; however, I can say without a doubt that the friends who truly stand out as I write this have some attributes in common:
They make me smile
They make me laugh and remind me to have fun
They have Faith and Trust in me
They are THERE for me and they listen
They accept me as I am with NO judgment
tThey are examples of love and compassion
They compliment me and build me up…my personal cheerleaders!
AND they make sure to let me know when I need some straightening up…
True friends inspire us to be better and do better while loving us unconditionally in the process.
“A Friend Loves At All Times” says Proverbs 17:17
It may sound like a weird concept to go through a figurative (or even literal) checklist and put friendships to the test, but sometimes it is absolutely necessary. Certain people just have a draining effect.
As my friend Les Brown once said “they are so negative, if you put them in a dark room, they could start to develop”... well, let it be in a land far far away!
Count your friends, count your blessings, and remember: If no one has told you they loved you yet today, you are surrounded by the wrong people!
