31 Positive Pregnancy Affirmations To Ease Anxiety and Fear

I’ve been getting better news about baby lately and I’m feeling better emotionally, though my physical discomfort is almost unbearable at times. I have been using Positive Affirmations to ease anxiety and fear, because our thoughts and emotions affect our unborn babies and impact their development (no pressure, right?) and I want to make sure I am doing all I can to help my baby thrive.

Positive Pregnancy Affirmations To Ease Anxiety and Fear

Have you ever said affirmations? You may think you haven’t tried affirmations before, but affirmations are simply words we say to ourselves. Affirmations can be positive or negative, so you could say that positive affirmations are positive self-talk and negative affirmations are negative self-talk.

The issue lies in that we often engage in negative self-talk, while we rarely take the time to positively affirm ourselves. Negative self-talk happens automatically: fear, doubt, stress, anxiety, depression… they show up unannounced and uninvited.

It is imperative that we be more intentional in saying positive words to ourselves. In fact, it takes about 17 positive words to counteract one negative, judgmental, or hurtful word, so it is essential that we take the time to affirm ourselves.

It is normal for fear to come up when you face pregnancy, birth (whether natural or medicated), and parenting (whether it’s the first child or not), so I’m using affirmations as a tool to have a more peaceful pregnancy, a safe birth, and a healthy baby.

I am sharing 31 pregnancy affirmations to encourage you to join me on this journey to changing how we think about pregnancy and to feel more relaxed, confident, and beautiful as we carry a precious new life.

31 Positive Affirmations To Shift Fearful Thoughts and Have A More Positive Pregnancy

Get in a comfortable position, rest your hands on your belly, take a deep breath, and repeat the positive affirmations below, whether silently or out loud:

  2. My body is accepting my baby and my pregnancy will end with the safe birth of a healthy baby.
  3. I choose to enjoy every second in this journey of pregnancy, even in difficult days.

  16. I trust my body knows how to safely guide my baby out of the womb and into my arms.
  17. I release the discomfort of pregnancy, I let go of the worry, tension and the fear of birth and I am focused on the joy of meeting my child.
  18. My baby is loved and she senses my love as our bond and connection grows stronger every day.
  19. I cherish and celebrate the gift of pregnancy, life, and motherhood.

  22. I protect myself and my baby by allowing only positive thoughts and words about pregnancy and childbirth.
  23. My most important job in pregnancy and childbirth is to simply relax, stay centered, serene, and balanced, and to allow my baby’s birth to happen.

  30. I allow myself to see the beauty and joy in this process, to enjoy this precious time with my baby, and to be empowered by all it brings.
  31. I am proud myself for the contribution of carrying, nurturing, and sustaining a life within me.

Pregnancy is not an easy process: your body changes, your mood changes, and your life changes. We also set so many unrealistic on ourselves, on top of the unrealistic expectations that others impose on us.

I deal with morning sickness all day long, lack energy, and go through so much pain and so much more, but I feel so connected to The Creator during this sacred time when a new life is forming. It is worth everything!

Thankfully, we can make pregnancy easier by going through it with positivity. The birth process is not necessarily the most joyful process in your life, but we can lovingly train ourselves to make it more manageable, because our mindset can make labor move faster and with more ease.

Positive Pregnancy Affirmations have helped me be more present and enjoy the excitement of bringing my babies into the world. When I recite positive affirmations, I feel stronger when it comes to facing and enduring unexpected challenges, especially those that feel intimidating, scary, and even terrifying.

I know I’m not alone in this and we all slide toward negativity from time to time, so I encourage you to replace your fear, judgment, shame, and other overwhelming emotions with positive affirmations. This emotional work is necessary to help us prepare for the process of birth and life with our new baby.

We must take care of our inner peace as much as we take care of our bodies in pregnancy, so make sure you use the positive affirmations I shared above to or check out this post to learn how to make your own.

Wow, I didn't know that I have done some affirmations. Does it necessarily have to be said everyday to your self? I remember during those times, when I was pregnant that I have to wake up and do the morning walk no matter how tired I feel because I wanted to have a safe and normal delivery. And I talked to my baby even she's still inside my tummy. I did have a safe and normal delivery!

So happy I found this! Planning on making this part of my daily routine. I am not religious, rather spiritual, so thank you for wording the affirmations in a way that focuses on bonding with baby and empowering the self. More accessible to everyone that way!
