Don Williams said “The true beauty of a woman is her inherent ability to make better a man in every way” and I couldn’t agree more.
International Woman’s Day serves as political and human rights and social awareness of worldwide issues women face.
The United Nations has done an amazing job at protecting women’s rights and seeking equality, justice, peace, and development of women worldwide. Examining and assessing these issues is extremely important. We have come a long way as a global society, yet there’s so much to go.
I celebrate this day because I think women are beautiful. As beautiful as men. Yet, different. We are referred to as “opposite sexes” and I believe there is a reason.
Women are graceful, nurturing, soft … we are motherly, healing, and enchanting. We complement men because we were designed to do so:
“Woman was taken out of man; not out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled underfoot; but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved.”
Let’s celebrate women because of their innate ability to make things better and more beautiful when they are their best selves.
When a woman stands strong and secure, honoring her femininity, collaborating as a sister with her community of women, and being a joy and support to the community of men in her life, she is truly beautiful and she makes an impact!
I long for the day in which women’s rights, children’s rights, human rights, animal rights turn into just ‘rights’ and we see each other as ONE. We are NOT equal, we are interconnected in our variety. Is this true for YOU?
