Tropical Bliss Vegan Smoothie Recipe

Becoming vegan has been a wonderful journey and a source of joy for my family. I keep posting all the delicious vegan homemade goodness we get to create in my kitchen, so I often get asked for the recipe and I definitely want to share the love. I decided to post my Tropical Bliss Vegan Smoothie recipe. It’s one of my personal favorites because all the fruits and flavors remind me of my life on the island ~ hence the name. 🙂

A great tip to make your smoothies more refreshing is freezing your fruit. I actually enroll my daughters in cutting fruits with me, which is a great bonding activity. We distribute the smoothie ingredients into a sealed storage bag, so we end up with two weeks worth of smoothies in the freezer, and all you have to do is pour the contents of the bag into the blender, for a quick, guilt-free snack or meal replacement. tropical bliss vegan smoothie recipe with vega oneTo make my Tropical Bliss smoothie and delight your family with whole nourishment, you will need to blend just a few ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup of whole almonds
  • 1 heaping cup of strawberry halves
  • 1/4 cup of blueberries
  • 3 stems of cilantro
  • 1 cup of kale (or you can use spinach, like pictured)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 pack Vega One french vanilla (they have so many awesome flavors!)
  • 1/4 cup of milled golden flax seed
  • 2 1/2 cups of coconut water [or almond milk]
  • a pinch of ground ginger
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 cups of pineapple cubes

You will love this vegan smoothie recipe because it does taste yummy, and all the ingredients have amazing properties to promote a fit and healthy body, mind, and spirit. It serves 4!

In my family, we love finding quick, creative ways to eat without dairy, added sugars, artificial flavors, colors, or preservatives, while increasing our protein intake, too! That’s why I add Vega One to our smoothies.

I’m a big Vega One fan, and a blessed and grateful one, at that, since they recently sent me a box of goodies to try their new formula [available in stores starting January 2015] with 33% more protein and a lot more greens. Talk about feeling VIP right before my birthday. 🙂

Our little ones must get whole food nutrition to growing strong and healthy and smoothies are a great way to disguise those flavors they are not yet used to. My daughters are singers and to keep their voices performance-ready, I usually make a smoothie blend with radishes, which are soothing for the throat. They feel happy with the results, and even happier to not have to deal with a strong or unpleasant taste. It’s a win-win.

This smoothie sounds amazing! If for no other reason than the cilantro. ;-) I don't think I've ever tried a smoothie with that in it.
